Our Stories

​​​Fero group journey began in 1991 as Maltech Industrial Supplies, a packaging and offset printing company founded by Mr. Ooi Hock Boon, who is also the current managing director of Fero group. Driven by a steadfast commitment to high-quality products and exceptional customer service, the company flourished and experienced rapid growth over the years. In 2005, Maltech Industrial Supplies transitioned to Fero Maltech (M) Sdn Bhd (FM). Subsequently, in 2007, Fero Maltech Industries (M) Sdn Bhd (FMI) was established, along with the acquisition of a manufacturing plant in Pengkalan Chepa, Kota Bharu, Kelantan, which now serves as our headquarters. Between 2007 and 2016, FMI expanded its production capabilities from plastic extrusion, printing, sealing, and cutting to include lamination, a variety of flexible packaging products, and plastic recycling.
 
While FMI was being established, FM continued to focus on the offset printing business. In 2008, FM ventured into the corporate gifts and uniforms business. Following this, in 2011, Fero Welltech (M) Sdn Bhd was established in Ampang, Selangor, as a branch. To support the business's growth, in 2017, Mr. Ooi acquired a second manufacturing plant opposite our current headquarters. This expansion significantly increased electricity consumption during the production process, contributing to major overhead costs and pollution. To address these challenges, in 2019, we successfully installed a Solar PV system in our manufacturing plant.
 
In recent years, we have embraced the adoption of green technologies and digital transformation. Alongside these initiatives, we are striving to penetrate the export market, with a mission to expand into international markets, promoting Malaysian manufacturing excellence on a global stage. Our vision is to be Asia's most trusted and innovative flexible packaging manufacturer, delivering high quality, sustainable value to customers, employees, and communities.
